Documents

Document sources synchronize organizational content for agents to use in conversations or tasks. Viewing them requires Sources Configuration Read; creating or editing them requires Sources Configuration Write.

Available sources

  • SharePoint: organization-managed Microsoft 365 sites and folders.
  • OneDrive: folders from each person's Microsoft account.
  • Google Drive: selected shared drives, folders, or files.

Creating a source

First, go to Settings > Data > Documents and select Add documents. A form will appear for you to enter the document source details.

  1. Configuration: choose the cloud service that hosts the documents and assign a recognizable name. You can optionally add a description to make the source easier to identify in the list.
  2. Connection: authorize GESCON to access, index, and synchronize the documents. See Available sources for the connection options for each service.
  3. Files: select precisely which sites and folders GESCON can access and assign groups to each folder.
  4. When you save, the first synchronization begins and the source appears with the Syncing status. Wait for synchronization to finish before adding the source to an agent.

You can delete a document source at any time. Its associated documents will disappear from the platform. Deleting a source from GESCON does not delete the original files.

Editing a source

You can change the name or description of a document source without affecting how GESCON works, unless the source is referenced in an agent's instructions.

Context in agents

If an agent's prompt or skills explicitly mention the document source name and you rename it, update those references to avoid incorrect results.

Changing the source type, sites, or folders updates the documents to synchronize. If you deselect a previously selected folder, its documents are removed from GESCON, but not from the original source.

tip

Use one document source for each site or drive to avoid duplicates. GESCON's group system lets different users access different documents within the same source.

Viewing content

Synchronized files appear in the Document repository. From there, you can search, open, or start a conversation using a selection as context.
